1,000 Wordsworth: The Nightmare before Christmas

Our Annual Halloween Party ends with the burning of the Christmas Tree—saved for 10 month, next to the composting twigs and leaves.

“This is Halloween, This is Halloween,”  “And they called him Sandy-Claws..”

Okay, I’m a sucker for Tim Burton’s movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas.

It started on a whim of G-dad’s. Now everyone looks forward to the Burning of the Christmas Tree” to close the Halloween party.

  2. This is the first time that I heard or see this tradition perhaps, weird but why you burn the christmas tree, weird tradition, huh?

Yes, it is a little weird, Ishmael. We did it one ear, and the children loved it. So, we continued. It became a way of welcoming the holiday season from one year to the next. We also have a big pajama party New Year’s Eve, followed by a traditional Polish dinner the next day.
