Gratitude Monday: It’s a Circus in Rockford

I love the circus.  CeCi invited me to go with her family,  Rockford is a hour’s drive from her house.  It’s closer than Chicago where the CIRCUS comes.  We went to the circus.  Just one ring.  Just a half-full stadium.  Just two clowns, some acrobats, and some jugglers.  And camels performing. Sometimes little things are sweet. Don’t you think? Today I give you some little things that bring gratitude to my heart: Five redbreast robins hopping and stopping in the early morning dew.  Each stops, tilts her head, and  to pulls a worm from the freshly mowed lawn. Lily of…

Photo Friday: The Beholder’s Eye

Weeds, hated weeds. I think they are beautiful testaments of the way life’s desire to persevere, to carry on, to endure. I took one photo and applied different filters.  Which one do you like the best? #1  No Filter   #2:  Chrome Filter   #3:  Noir Filter   I took the shot with my iPhone6.  No special lens or lighting except what nature provides. Would you like to see more great photos?  Head on over to Pierced Wonderings for her photo link-up.  Jen’s always got colorful photos of people and places.  This week she’s shows us some photos of “New…

Gratitude Monday: Overflowing in Abundance

A long Road trip, a hundred new friends and support from afar fill me with gratitude. Wow, my cups is overflowing. Wow! What a week. Loved-One on one end and sister Mary on the other, I traveled between Chicago and Nashville like I had my own private security and travel arrangers. Mary kept me posted on road conditions; Loved-one made sure I got a hotel room at my home away from home, Hampton Inn, and a place to get my iPad fixed. Yes, I dropped my iPad, destroying the glass. Batteries Plus & Bulbs fixed me up in 3 hours…

Road Trip: Day 4, Park City Here We Come

It’s Columbus Day. I wake from another dream about a way to feed the hungry with beans. “Beans to You,” has farmers dedicate an acre of their bean crop. Packaged in 2 lb. mesh bags and tied with a ribbon, a cookbook filled with bean recipes from local people.accompanies the donation.  I hold on to this idea.  It could work.  Really.  Beans are very versatile. I get the newsletters sent, but a lot of error messages resulted. Drat! I sent another request to the tech support. At breakfast (another delightful and homey meal of yogurt, fruit, robust coffee and waffles)…

RoadTripping: Day 3

I wake from a dream where I solved my newsletter import/export problems. Like Watson and Crick, I hold on to my vision.  I can fix this.  I can. I delay us leaving by two hours, sure I of my solution. I do not succeed. We get up, swim, have another breakfast of waffles and scrambled eggs.  Really, really good eggs.   I spent most of the day editing the exported spreadsheet from my old newsletter (not working) in hopes that I can import when we stopped.  Well, I’m riding in the car anyways, I can look up as often as I…
