Photo Friday and NaPoWriMo #3

Today’s challenge: write a fourteener. Fourteeners can be have any number of lines, but each line should have fourteen syllables. Traditionally, each line consisted of seven iambic feet (i.e., an unstressed syllable followed by a stressed syllable, times seven), but non-iambic fourteeners also exist.

I longed for, searched for, hoped for,

Signs that winter fled for spring.

Purple pushed away dead brown,

Yellow stretched green to birth.

Blue on white whispered welcome.

Alleluia. I Believe.

Thank you Kimberly. Corporate life can be quite creative, too. This is much more relaxing.

I know what you mean, Laurel. The robins are usually poking around early spring, sometimes in the midst of a last snowstorm. Perhaps they are heading your way!

  2. I really like it when suddenly a beauty springs forth like that. So hopeful. 🙂
