Photo Friday: Putting a Lock on Summer

Summer’s nostalgic heat diminished night’s cool rain.

Long shadows promise cold days to come.

A lake rests, sequestered behind a fence.

Fall’s gentle  promenade proclaimed.

Summer curtsies, Autumn advances.

Locked out of summer

  1. Nice shot! I like how the fence is in the shot but not the focus. Very interesting perspective.

Thank you Amanda. I see this lake on my daily walk. The long shadows and the fence makes it look so forlorn

Ugh it is so hard for me get behind the idea that the summer is over…particularly since temperatures are going to be in the low 90s and before my mother-in-law reminded me that we had plans for tomorrow, I was thinking about heading to the beach. We have a few temps dipping into the 50s at night but it won’t feel like fall until late October/early November.

Thank you so much for joining us for Photo Friday again this week!

I’m not near the photographer of most of your linkers. Still, I do like to take photos. I’m amazed how well they turn out. They’re good enough for the two newspapers I write for.

  3. I’m holding on for an Indian summer – I need at least one more trip to the lake when the water is still warm enough for a mid-afternoon splash. You’re making me think I need to get in the car next weekend!

The beaches are closed here. I hope you make it for one last swim!
