Gratitude Monday: Thanksgiving

One day to concentrate on gratitude.  Today, I heard that gratitude can actually make you healthier.  Keeping a daily journal of the things that make us give thanks can actually reduce inflammation, lower blood pressure, etc.  (More on that tomorrow.) For today, here are some of the things that bring me gratitude.  Snow. Yes, we got over a foot of really wet, heavy stuff.  It’s so pretty.  Now leaves fall on top of the snow, imprinting the white with a collage of color.  A still strong body. My shoulders got tight, and my neck’s a little stiff, but I shoveled.…

Gratitude Monday: Meditations of a Rainy Day

The weather continues to delight me.  Okay, rain keeps coming; but Here’s my Monday list, in no particular order, and starting with something weather related: 😛  Open windows through which I hear raindrops silencing everything, followed by a cheerful coming to life: Cardinals singing, Blue Jays keeping the peace, the buzzing bees, the distant drone of an airplane, gentle breezes rustling cherry leaves, and the frogs croaking. 😛  A gardening partner who mows while I edge, who trips while I weed, who gathers while I sweep.  Thank you Loved-One. 😛 Amazon Prime who hold my wishes and reminds me to…

The weather was hot, hot, hot, which brings me to the first thing on my gratitude list: 🙂  Air-conditioning:  Usually, I’m cursing the cold of air-conditioned restaurants. “I shouldn’t have to carry a sweatshirt everywhere I go!” It’s summer, it’s supposed to be hot. But even this warm-weather-lover, appreciates a reprieve from 95°…

Gratitude Monday #43: Loved-One

High on my list today is Loved-One.  I’m thankful for him almost everyday, but today is our anniversary, so all that he gifts me with is flooding my mind today.  Plus, this weekend, I hosted a bridal shower for my godson and his beautiful fiancée.  A Jack-N-Jill shower with couples at every stage of marriage. Here’s my list, in no particular order, but dominated by one person: A companion that sees me in ways no one else does, like the way he recognizes how much like my dad I am.  The good parts, like my sense of humor and my…
