Photo Friday Linkup: Spring Flowers

I set of this morning to capture honeybees for an article I wrote about “colony collapse.” Too windy for honeybees. I love how my little Sony CyberShot captured these flowers.  The veins of the Irises look better in the photo than my aging eyes saw them.  And I never noticed how hairy Columbine stems are. The door that hides my memory stick and battery keeps popping open.  I probably need a new camera soon.  Any suggestions? What’s in your lens this week?  Please let me take a peek by linking up with the code below.

Photo Friday: Book Club Gifters

This is my last (#5) of my week-long series about kindness gifting this holiday season.  If you’re just tuning in, please click back a few posts and start from the beginning. My book club meets on the third Thursdays of the month.  We take turns picking out a book and leading the discussion:  mostly fiction, plus at least one non-fiction and one classic each year. That means right before Thanksgiving and then again right before Christmas. So… no book for December.  Instead it’s party time.  And time for sharing.  Each year we find an organization that is willing to give…

Photo Friday: First Annual

Duckie told me she saw village officials testing the lights. Yup.  Now that I look a little closer, I DO see a baby Christmas Tree. I rallied the troupes. “Won’t it be fun to take a picture every year in front of the tree?  We can see how the tree…

Photo Friday: Baby You’re a Firework

Thanks to a post on BlogHer.com, I decided to try my hand at photographing fireworks.  I have my iPhone camera, which captures great pics, but if I want to adjust the ISO, I must use my Sony Cybershot.  I did a little cropping, but no other photo-editing.  Here goes:        This morning, I opened the newspaper to find this photo from the same fireworks display.  I like my photos better.  Thanks, BlogHer.com for giving me a nudge and some confidence.
